The
Teen Age Services Act Program (TASA)
Works with pregnant and or
parenting (Medicaid eligible) male and female
adolescents under twenty one (21) years
of age to take control, manage and provide
a level of self sufficiency, and family
stability for themselves and their children.
TASA staff works to strengthen the bonds
between parents and child, to keep young
families together, to help young mothers
and fathers manage their new concerns, to
take control of their lives and provide
bright futures for themselves and their
children. The Case Manager visits regularly
to see how things are going and may escort
the teen to needed services. Most importantly
the Case Manager follows up with referral
agencies to make sure that services are
being given appropriately. In 2003, TASA
provided case management services to 4,734
teen parents not counting their children,
siblings and other household members. .
